January 26 can bring up many feelings for people. The day is seen by some as a day to celebrate but others may see it as disrespectful. Leading up to the day you might find yourself looking to the truth of Australia’s past. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children have been taken from their families and communities since the start of colonisation in Australia. These children are known as Stolen Generations. They were stolen, taken for labour and removed from their families through government policies of the day.
The work of The Healing Foundation highlights the stories and lived experience of the Stolen Generations, their families and communities. This week we have collated 6 of our resources that help inform truth telling and the story ofthe Stolen Generations, they are:

This all took place under past Australian Government policies. This resource provides an outline of who the Stolen Generations are and the impacts forced removals. CLICK HERE
