VISION: Every Australian Knows Their Role in Healing
The Healing Foundation’s new Strategic Plan has a targeted outcome-focused and survivor-centred approach that will guarantee Stolen Generation survivors voices remain leaders of the nation’s healing journey. This new strategy emphasises four healing outcomes to maintain our leadership role and accelerate our work across the country to restore well-being, strength of spirit, family connections and cultural protections and safeguards for Stolen Generations survivors, their descendants, and communities.
Over the next five years, these outcomes aim to achieve:
Outcome 1: Individual Healing to ensure Stolen Generations survivors, their descendants, and communities have what they need to lead their own healing journey.
Outcome 2: Collective Healing to ensure Stolen Generations survivors, their descendants, and communities come together to heal – just like Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have been doing for tens-of-thousands of years.
Outcome 3: Societal Healing to ensure Stolen Generations survivors, their descendants, communities and all Australians know what makes healing happen; and
Outcome 4: Our Healing to continue our national role in healing The Healing Foundation will ensure its employees, reference groups and Board are showing what healing looks like, and staying our most resourceful selves. This is essential for any organisation and workforce seeking to deliver healing outcomes for Stolen Generations survivors, their descendants and communities.
Our Strategic Plan Logic
“If THF influences policy with an evidence-base, then it will provide expert direction on trauma-aware, healing-informed practices that are guided by Stolen Generations survivors.”
“If THF achieves all four outcomes then all Australians will understand what their role in healing is and Stolen Generations survivors, their descendants and communities will be able to lead their own healing journeys.”
“If THF knows its role in healing then it will lead the way as a healing organisation and set the standards for others to become healing organisations.”
“If THF achieves its vision then systematic barriers Stolen Generation survivors, descendants, and communities face day-to-day will no longer stand in the way of healing”
To realise our Vision, our Strategic Plan outlines four key roles that contribute to healing. We have provided a rationale and a baseline of what these roles must do to become (or continue to be) a Change Maker, Collaborator, Community or Champion that makes healing happen.
Thank you to our supporters – without you we could not continue our work walking alongside Stolen Generations survivors to seek the justice they deserve.
