Phillip Creek Native Settlement 

LOCATION: Phillip Creek

DESCRIPTION: Established by the government as a short term settlement for Aboriginal people, in its early days Phillip Creek was run by missionaries from the Aborigines Inland Mission. It contained three dormitories for Aboriginal children. In 1947 children who were classified as ‘mixed race’ were relocated from here to Darwin’s Retta Dixon Home.
