Methodist Children’s Home

(1922) Located at Sussex Street, East Victoria Park

DESCRIPTION: Opened on the site of the Dulhi Gunyah Mission, this was the first childcare facility run by the Methodist Homes for Children. Children were placed here by family or the state, for medium or long term placements. Cottages were later added to the mission, including Mofflyn House, Wesley, Guild, Dowerin and Meckering. In 1959 the site was renamed Mofflyn House. Previously known as Victoria Park Children’s Home.
