Cherbourg Mission

LOCATION: Located in the South Burnett district of south-east Queensland.

DESCRIPTION: Known as Barambah until 1931. Approximately 2079 Aboriginal people were removed here between 1905 and 1939. Boys, girls and later women with young children were housed in dormitories, which operated until at least the late 1970s.
