Inasmuch Children’s Home

DESCRIPTION: Inasmuch reportedly housed children who had been removed by the courts or were placed here by their parents. Children were put to work at the home, and are believed to have been billeted with neighbouring families during holiday periods. Inasmuch was renowned for its harsh conditions throughout the local community.

From 1958 until around 1972 Inasmuch was located off the Princes Highway at Falls Creek. In around 1972 the home relocated to Sussex Inlet, and remained there until it closed in 1986.
