Ebenezer Mission 

LOCATION: on the banks of the Wimmera River, near Dimboola.

DESCRIPTION: Children were often separated from their parents at the mission and housed in dormitories attached to the schoolhouse or the mission manager’s home. Many children were disciplined by mission managers against their parents’ wishes. The mission was gazetted in 1861 as the Lake Hindmarsh Aboriginal Reserve.
