Gorge Mission

LOCATION: Mossman

DESCRIPTION: Also known as Mossman Gorge Mission, this facility was established by Sister Hetherington of the Assemblies of God Church. Although located on an Aboriginal reserve, the mission was not officially appointed by the government. It was run privately by Sister Hetherington and accommodated six men, six women and eight children. In 1973 it was handed over to the Australian Inland Mission (AIM).
