Bethesda Mothers’ Hospital

LOCATION: 58 Talford Street, Rockhampton.

DESCRIPTION: Run by the Salvation Army, this was a maternity hospital and rescue home for ‘destitute, wronged and neglected girls’. Previously known as the Glenties Mothers’ Hospital, it was renamed Bethesda Hospital and Hostel in 1968. Adoptions were also arranged here.
