Jigalong Mission

LOCATION: Located in the Pilbara, approximately 165km east of the town of Newman

DESCRIPTION: Established as a base for workmen constructing the rabbit-proof fence, this mission was later given over to the Apostolic Church, who used it to train people for employment. It became known as the Aborigines Rescue Mission and housed more than 200 people, including almost 100 children.
