East Perth Girls’ Home

LOCATION: 131 Bennett Street, East Pert

DESCRIPTION: Set up by the Aborigines Department to train young women for domestic service. The home later housed pregnant women from as far away as the Kimberley and became a reception centre for ‘half caste’ children before they were placed elsewhere. In 1952 the home was renamed Bennett House.
