To celebrate 10 years of The Healing Foundation, we have created a clip that showcases the impact of our most meaningful work to date. The Healing Foundation came to life 10 years ago on 30 October 2009 but our story begins long before that – with the tragic history of the Stolen Generations. For almost a century, thousands of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children were systematically stolen from their families, communities and culture, many never to be returned.
For 10 years now, The Healing Foundation has supported Stolen Generations survivors and their families. In partnership with communities and governments, we’re working to address wide-ranging issues that continue to be passed down through intergenerational trauma.
Right across the country, our healing projects are making a real difference. We are leading the national conversation about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander healing and assisting governments to incorporate healing into policy. Healing is a long and complex process.
Our work tells the truth about the nation’s past to build a shared understanding between all Australians. Now and into the future, there’s an urgent need to scale up healing and your support is critical to ensure positive impacts are felt for generations to come.
