Acknowledgement of Country

The Healing Foundation acknowledges Country, Custodians and Community of the lands on which we live and work. We also pay our respects to Elders and to Stolen Generations survivors, of the Dreaming and of the here and now. We recognise the ongoing nature of trauma experiences for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and commit each day to survivor-led intergenerational healing.

Support from Stolen Generation organisations

Dedicated supports for survivors across Australia

Stolen Generations organisations play a vital role in providing culturally safe and healing-informed services for survivors as they age. Driven by the voices of survivors themselves, these dedicated organisations tirelessly work to deliver essential support and resources to their communities.

Across Australia, Stolen Generations organisations are committed to documenting survivor stories, preserving invaluable knowledge and wisdom that can be shared with future generations. These groups collaborate closely with survivors to co-develop services tailored to their unique needs, including healing gatherings, camps, and workshops that foster community connection.

The Healing Foundation aims to provide comprehensive and up-to-date information and resources regarding these organisations that can aid the healing process for members of the Stolen Generations and their families.

    Yokai - Healing Our Spirit

The West Australian Stolen Generations Aboriginal Corporation, known as Yokai Healing Our Spirit, evolved from needs voiced and prioritised by delegates at the inaugural State Convention of Western Australian Stolen Generations Survivors held in 2013 in Perth.

Its approach is based on real outcomes for the Aboriginal community and will deliver long-term cost efficiencies for government in terms of human services delivery.
